Robert L. Francis is President of Interweb Illinois, another of the Six Pack Companies, and is a World War II veteran. Hearing him recall the stories of being no more than a boy, sent off to fight an enemy that really was an immediate threat to the entire world, and the load that he and his fellow soldiers bore so long ago, it made us realize how fragile a thing our way of life would be if not for these faceless heroes.

This configuration is the first in a many-step improvement called WIRE (Western Infrastructure Redesign Effort) that couples servers and network links here in Denver with redundant systems at our headquarters in San Diego. Now, any network or server failures in Denver can be automatically picked up and handled by servers in San Diego, and vice-versa. As we continue to dramatically increase our network bandwidth between our two main hubs, this configuration will be more and more integrated. Soon you may be automatically changed to a server a thousand miles away and back again without even noticing.
